Picturing History: Dating Photographs In-Person
Learn techniques used for dating and identifying images. Registration is not required.
Do you have old family photographs of unknown people? In this program, we will look at examples of historic photographs to learn how to identify the type of process used, read clues provided by the subject, and use other tools to help us identify the time period of the image. With this information, you will be able to go home and apply these techniques to your own photographs and, hopefully, identify when they were taken and possibly the subject (person or location).
There will not be time to look at individual images brought by attendees.
