Picturing History: Identifying and Dating Historic Photographs In-Person
Do you have old family photographs of unknown people? Learn different techniques used for dating and identifying images at this program.
Specifically, we will look at examples of historic photographs to learn how to identify the type of process used, read clues provided by the subject, and use other tools to help us identify the time period of the image. With this information in-hand, you will be able to go home and use these techniques to study your own photographs, and hopefully, identify the time period they were taken, and possibly, the subject (person or location).
Unfortunately, there will not be time to look at individual images brought by attendees. No registration required.
