Writing Workshop with author Conrad Storad (Homeschool Program)

Writing Workshop with author Conrad Storad (Homeschool Program) In-Person

Local Children's author Conrad Storad will share some of his methods for getting young readers interested in nonfiction material, especially from the perspective of the writer. His emphasis is on how to write factual material in an entertaining manner. Writing is hard work. But it does not have to be boring. To do well, writers need to know their audience. The session is focused on the importance of word choice and using vivid description as a writing technique.

Participants will complete one or two short writing exercises during the session. Brief discussion will follow each exercise. Participants will share their work with the group.

The session is a beginner’s guide for young writers and readers, both the enthusiastic and reluctant variety. It is NOT a session on how to get a book published.

All materials will be provided, but children are welcome to bring their own notebooks if they would like.

This program is open to all Homeschool children, and registration is required to ensure we have enough materials for everyone.  You can register below, or contact the Children's Department at (330)745-1194 ext. 1423 or 1424.
